AILH Maui Advocacy Coordinator Brian Hauser along with IL Specialist, Lani Cabanilla, attended the What IS Possible Training on Nov. 21st. The guest speaker was Heather Weldon, City of Seattle Supported Employment Manager, who shared customized employment for people with developmental disabilities in her hometown of Seattle. Attendees received a wealth of information on how to think differently about the “obstacles”; How to talk to potential employers and making a business case for hiring people with developmental disabilities.
