AILH is proud to announce the introduction of the READI for Disasters Act (S. 3679) which we have been advocating for and encouraging our consumers to submit letters of support. Senator Bob Casey introduced the bill on Thursday morning and six Senators joined him as original co-sponsors: Sens. Klobuchar (MN), Duckworth (IL), Blumenthal (CT), Van Hollen (MD), Murray (WA), and Hassan (NH).
READI for Disasters Act will create a network of centers focused on research, training and technical assistance to assist states and localities to better involve and support people with disabilities and older adults during times of disasters.
