Patience is a Virtue

As the saying goes, “Patience is a virtue” and it was well worth the wait for Avard Periera as he moved into his new renovated 1 bedroom/1 bath home in Kaunakakai town. IL Specialist, JulieAnn Agliam, started assisting Avard in June 2018 with searching for affordable housing near grocery stores, banks, and medical facilities needed in order for him to maintain his independence. After we found a rental unit he waited nearly 7 months for renovations to be completed and for the unit to pass Section 8 inspection. Our last task was to transfer his electricity on the day that he moved out of his home in Kualapuu to Kaunakakai.  With the help of friends he was able to move his household items into his new unit on January 28, 2019.  Avard is extremely grateful to AILH for helping him make a smooth transition and gives thanks to God for all of his blessings.
