The Maui Vision Impairment and Blindness Education and Peer Support Group recently welcomed Jean Tessmer to share with the group. Jean is an Interior Designer, with her company, Space Options, and has completed many ADA commercial and private design and renovation projects. She has won several Disability and Communication Access Board Awards. Jean shared about reasonable accommodations and individual rights as a tenant of private or public housing to request such an accommodation. Jean also answered many questions regarding accessible design elements such as grab bars and ramps. Everyone enjoyed the discussion and left the meeting with new knowledge.
