The Department of Health Leeward Oahu Public Health Nursing Section and the University of Hawaii School of Nursing presented an emergency preparedness training session to the residents of Hale Kuhao. A presentation about the different types of emergency situations and the importance of having an emergency plan in place was shared. Following the presentation, the nurses sat down individually with each participant to formulate their own emergency plan. Thanks to the generous donations from the Department of Health, Costco, Times Supermarket, and Walmart, each participant went home with an emergency starter kit. Practical information was shared during this valuable time of training. Be prepared, stay healthy, have a plan!
