Hilo resident and former AILH consumer, Ralph Toomire passed away peacefully this month. One of his last wishes was to have all of his remaining possessions left to AILH to distribute to other local residents in need. We are extremely humbled and grateful for this most generous and thoughtful gift. Ralph’s son, Robert, graciously assisted AILH Hilo staff in retrieving the items. AILH would like to gratefully acknowledge the Toomire family for their beautiful gesture of aloha.

Ralph’s wishes immediately came to fruition as current AILH consumer, Lorna, who until recently was homeless, received a brand new pillow top bed and much needed household goods. When the items were delivered to Lorna, she cried happy tears of joy and gratitude. We are most certain that Ralph was smiling too.
