World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is recognized on June 15th. Maui IL Specialists Lani and Kathleen attended the Maui County Office on Aging’s “Cherish our Kupuna” Conference on Elder Justice and Protection on June 14th. During this day-long event ,there was plenty of opportunity to network and learn more about red flags of abuse, common scams and examples of financial abuse, and the importance of advocacy on behalf of kupuna at the county, state and federal level.
